SECONDARY DEPARTMENT SET-UP PERSON

JOB DESCRIPTION
Involves the proper set-up of machines within the department including Hartford thread rollers, mills, drill presses, surface grinders, and assembly equipment etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • • Measure, examine, and test completed components to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments (i.e. gages) and following SPC guidelines
  • • Maintain appropriate industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures
  • • Set-up jobs as required
  • • Determine maintenance requirements and perform maintenance as needed per company procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

  • • Experience as a Machinist
  • • Knowledge of Precision Manufacturing
  • • Team player ability to learn and think quickly

QUALITY TECHNICIAN

JOB DESCRIPTION
Immediate opening in a Swiss Screw Mfg. Co. Applicant must be able to read blue prints, use micrometers, comparators, & other basic measurement devices. Knowledge of SPC & good visual interpretive skills required. Basic knowledge of comparators, micrometers and gages a plus. Inspects precision machined components applying knowledge of blue prints, shop mathematics, layouts, control plans, and machining procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and optical comparators
  • • Do diversified inspection throughout the plant, along with first piece inspections.
  • • Know intricate gaging methods and show genuine interest in producing quality work.
  • • Be able to evaluate quality, issue rejections and be responsible for his/her decisions.
  • • Be able to analyze a problem and suggest possible solutions.
  • • Measure, examine, and test completed components to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments (i.e. gauges) and following SPC guidelines.
  • • Be familiar with outside operations and suppliers. Know heat treating and plating specifications and make decisions regarding the quality of these operations.

SWISS SCREW TECHNICIAN

JOB DESCRIPTION
Set up and operate Escomatic Swiss Screw Machines to produce precision machined components applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, layouts, control plans, and machining procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and optical comparators.
  • • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials (i.e. coil stock) onto machines, adhering to all training/safety rules.
  • • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • • Machine parts to blue print specifications.
  • • Set up, adjust, and use all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation of tools to perform precision machining operations.
  • • Measure, examine, and test completed components to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments (i.e. gages) and following SPC guidelines and ISO/TS16949.
  • • Maintain appropriate industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
  • • Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • • Experience working in a machine shop environment
  • • Set up and operate machines
  • • Ability to hold tight tolerances
  • • Experience reading blue prints
  • • Experience with Swiss screw machining
  • • Good math skills
